A calmer counter, even in the rush

ZigZag POS is built around the people who use it: the barista with a queue out the door, the cook reading dockets across the pass, and the guest waiting on their food. Every screen does one job, and does it clearly.

Every order is a docket: in, to the kitchen, back out, served.

Two ideas behind every screen

Empathy

Designed for 12:30 on a Saturday.

We design for the person at the screen when it is hardest: hands busy, queue long, a guest asking a question. That means big touch targets, allergies that stay with the item all the way to the kitchen, and messages that tell staff what to do next, not an error code.

Focus

One screen, one job.

Nothing on screen competes with the task in hand. Colour means something: red is only for problems, and the one action you need next is the one that stands out. Money is shown big, in figures that line up, so totals can be read at a glance.

How it works

From counter, to pass, to table

Our logo is a kitchen docket, because the docket is the one thing every order shares. ZigZag POS follows it the whole way.

  1. Take the order

Tap items in, add notes and allergies, set courses or hold an item. Park an order and pick it up later. Loyalty members bring their usuals with them.

  2. Send it to the kitchen

Orders land on the kitchen display the moment they are sent, in a high-contrast theme made to be read from across the pass. Rush an order with one tap.

  3. Take payment

Card payments go straight to the PIN pad through Linkly Cloud, tips included. Cash with change due. Refunds and voids say exactly what happened.

  4. Bring them back

A stamp card that lives in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and updates itself when the balance changes. No app to download, no card to lose.

Features

Everything the shift needs, nothing it doesn't

  • Tables and floor plan

See every table and its order at a glance.

  • Customer display

A screen facing the guest shows their order and total, in big, clear figures.

  • Receipts

Print customer receipts to thermal printers, 58 mm or 80 mm, with your own logo at the top.

  • Till and shift close

Open the drawer with a float, count it at close, and see what the shift took.

  • Reports

Sales and payments reports, for the whole venue or a single till.

  • Staff PINs and roles

Quick PIN sign-in, an idle lock, and separate rights for staff, managers and admins.

  • When the card network is down

The POS shows the problem in plain words and walks staff through taking the payment another way.

  • Runs in your venue

Install it on a PC at the counter or a server. Tills are just browsers on your network.

Your venue, your data

Respect for your guests is part of the design

ZigZag POS runs inside your venue. Where it needs the internet, such as keeping wallet passes up to date, it goes through a relay that stores only data sealed to your venue's own key. Even we, who run the relay, can't read it.
